Touching Hats

Here and below are lovers. Different generations and less ardour in one than the other but both equally touching. Here I asked if I could take their picture but said very little. They were happy to look at each other. This was taken in Fort Greene Park, Brooklyn, NY.

  1. The brightness and colors in this photograph seem to match the relationship. These two look so genuinely happy. They both wear hats well and I love they way their hats meet, "tenting" their mutual looks of admiration.

  2. You've managed to capture their magnatism famously. Brilliant!

  3. Thank you, John, for your recent comments. There are very few good critics in the world of photography, but you are up there with Janet Malcolm. I value greatly the small collection of your comments on my subjects and my approach to them, and look forward to the collection growing into a volume.

Tennis, my other love, has now no good writers on the game, as David Foster Wallace died a few months ago. He was in a class of his own, I admit. I miss him. McEnroe, of course, is excellent, but he is best in the commentary box. There is an opening for you if you can grow to like the game.

Meanwhile, I look forward to finding more subjects and hitting more balls.
