Young Enlishman again

Kit and his father liked this shot better than the one below. The side light has narrowed his face. And he looks comfortable amongst the indecipherable graffiti symbols.

  1. I like this one better too. It's just a more interesting shot. I like the way the auto-graphic black and white graffiti behind him playfully mimics the rigid rectilinear black and white stripes of his shirt. Unlike the other photo too, where Kit doesn't appear to have one, his shadow here additionally compliments and adds dimension to the figure/ground relationship as well. While Kit's pose and gaze in the other photo appears more direct and striking in a conventional way, his expression, more casual stance, and interaction with the setting also engages the viewer in a much more complex, and ultimately thorough way here. Beautiful shot.
