Venice in the rain
February 1962. A nice moment to see Venice for the first time - mist and rain for three days. Hardly a sole about, just Venetians enjoying the emptiness of their city judging by the spring in this man's step. Others possibly looking forward to the spring hordes.
Another one of your great photos where the man with the umbrella looks superimposed, like a "Colorform",-(those who played with Colorforms as children will know what I mean). I also love that the shadows on the wet glazed square are like those in a lake. Lovely background.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Very reminiscent of Atget, Cartier Bresson, Boubat, among other early masters.
ReplyDeleteI really like this photo, very good capture..
