Assistant
This photograph was taken in 1986. It is a Polaroid of my assistant at the time. A year later we were married. It was taken in my studio on Lafayette Street, NYC and was the first photograph I took of her. Caroline loves to take pictures herself now and last week I assisted her—mostly carrying the tripod and camera bag.
Lovely photo that brings back a lot of memories. I don't remember Caroline's hair tossed quite this way, but that posture and expression are undeniably hers. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteDelightfully disheveled!

ReplyDeleteThis photo does bring back quite a lot of memories, bittersweet for me.
ReplyDeleteI did not know her very well, as I never seemed to hear her speak. She seems like a little sparrow, and I love her expression.
To think Dmitri has put up with that expression for over 20 years!
ReplyDeleteI would put it like this. 'To think Dmitri has had the privilege to enjoy this expression for over 20 years!' Let's face (no pun) it, he's a very fortunate man.
ReplyDeleteI think I need to find an assistant.
ReplyDeleteshe's hot xoxox
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I've never seen this photograph of Caroline. I've always preferred her hair on the longer side. The entire look is fabulous and one she can still wear now.
